For larger areas, organic fertilizers are derived from plant, animal, or mineral resources, and combined with organic matter. They help strengthen soil health by preventing the depletion of soil microorganisms and leaching into waterways, which can create large dead zones where water no longer contains oxygen for marine life. Organic fertilizers are sold in three forms: dry, water-soluble powder, and liquid. Guaranteed analysis includes 7.0% total nitrogen, 7.0% water insoluble nitrogen, 7.0% available phosphate, 2.0% soluble potash, 7.0% calcium, and 1.0% sulfur. Additionally, it contains 2.5% humic acids derived from leonardite.

Down To Earth’s Bio-Fish 7-7-2 is an all-purpose, nutrient-rich fertilizer ideal for vegetable gardens and all types of outdoor plants, trees, and shrubs. A good source of nitrogen and phosphorus, it can be used throughout the growing season to promote vigorous growth, plentiful fruit, and beautiful blooms. In vegetable gardens and flower beds, 5 lbs per 100 square feet is recommended for new gardens, while for established plants, side dress ¼-½ cup per plant twice each month during the growing season. For outdoor containers, add 2 tbsp per gallon of soil for new plantings, or 1-2 tbsp per gallon for established plants. For trees and shrubs, spread 1 lb per 2″ of trunk diameter around the base outwards to the drip line, or mix 1-2 cups with the backfill soil for new trees.
